Art Manager, Wearables Responsibilities
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of 3D Artists, Concept Artists, Motion Designers and Technical Artists that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across skill sets.
  • Responsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritization, and building a culture of executional excellence.
  • Engage with Product Managers, Designers and Engineering Leads to define the art pipelines and components, scope and goals for key features within various projects.
  • Define, craft, and evolve visual systems and/or standards and guide the team to develop best practices for ensuring a high quality bar. Provide feedback and direction to the team to continually raise the bar.
  • Cultivate healthy process for the team, and be a key contributor to the organization's product strategy.
  • Effectively communicate your team's product goals and connect related projects across the company so that problems or joint decisions can be resolved quickly.
  • Lead and oversee key projects from conception to launch in partnership with product design, product managers and engineers.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Build a diverse and an inclusive environment across the team, model inclusive behaviors.
  • Become a trusted strategic partner to product stakeholders and executive leadership by communicating and demonstrating the value of art specialist roles, and by delivering insights that lead to demonstrable business value.
  • Effectively influence key partner leaders to gain alignment in prioritization, resourcing, and budgeting.
  • Provide thought-leadership in establishing, implementing, and improving direction, goals, and processes for executing both near and long term vision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Over 3+ years of experience managing full-time artists and 7+ years developing and launching projects for wearable technologies like VR/AR, with expertise in real-time rendering and a background in branding, design, or gaming, along with related experience in supporting and managing technical functions.
  • Demonstrated experience to manage the development, maintenance and documentation of 2D/3D art and animation pipelines and vendor based asset creation.
  • Experience driving changes in operational processes and aligning teams to a strategic vision by solving conflicts and misalignments.
  • Demonstrated experience to recruit, nurture, and grow talent
  • Experience with roadmapping, budget management, and financial/performance tracking
  • Interest for supporting ICs and other managers to produce a collaborative environment, where individuals bring in their best to produce effective results.
  • Proven communication, presentation and diplomatic skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience shipping products & leading teams in the AR/VR or other industry
  • Experience with generative AI tools and techniques, including prompt AI-assisted design.
  • Experience in Unreal, Unity, or other real-time applications

$149,000/year to $205,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
