Meta is hiring a Product Strategy and Governance Policy Manager with expertise in data and emerging technology policy issues to join our team and help us build products, services, and technologies that promote the best interests of our users. In this role, you'll help shape the company's approach to emerging governance issues and support our work with external stakeholders. In this role, you'll work closely with public policy managers, partnerships, and communications and marketing partners across the company to drive major cross-cutting policy-led external executions, to synthesize the company’s product approach and community building efforts, and develop programs that are most needed to drive the policy outcomes most critical to the company’s product strategy. A strong candidate will be familiar with data and emerging technology policy issues, including on AI, data, and privacy, and have experience in stakeholder engagement and leading proactive policy or programmatics initiatives that require the balancing of many different perspectives and equities. You should be a proactive self-starter, a team player, and a creative problem solver who is able to switch easily between detailed work and high-level strategic thinking. You should also have an understanding of and familiarity with the stakeholders and perspectives in the policy community.
Product Strategy and Governance Policy Manager Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain programs including systems, venues, and resources to support cross-issue priorities
  • Partner with Public Affairs and marketing to drive priority campaigns and develop externalization strategies across key cross-issue priorities, working with legislative/regulation, global advocacy, communications and marketing partners
  • Lead cross issue policy strategy development for key product launches and anchor company moments
  • Support cross-issue policy initiatives, key stakeholder relationships, strategy development and initiatives for emerging policy and governance issues and community building efforts
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience working in policy or in supporting policy related programs
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, business, policy, law, marketing, social science, computer science or related field
  • Knowledge of key technology policy issues, stakeholders, and the surrounding debate (in particular around AI, data, privacy, and emerging technologies)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing and executing policy strategy at one of these three categories: : (1) civil society or academia, (2) company or firm, or (3) government
  • Working familiarity or relationships with key data, privacy and AI policy stakeholders and experts from civil society, academia, and government
  • Experience working directly with senior business executives and/or high-ranking government officials
  • JD or Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant subject

$158,000/year to $228,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
