Meta is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) experienced in managing complex software development projects – particularly middleware, libraries, runtimes, or compilers. This position will help drive the continued development of the PyTorch Framework which powers a lot of AI research, model development, and production AI services. PyTorch is developed by a vibrant worldwide open source community of developers anchored and supported by a significant team at Meta. This position will drive high impact programs within and around PyTorch, often working cross functionally with other teams at Meta, teams a significant partner companies (such as the ones who have joined Meta to form the PyTorch Foundation (Intel, Microsoft, Amazon, NVIDIA, etc.. ) ), or teams including individual contributors within the open source community. Such programs might focus on things like software runtime and memory use optimization, scalability, new capabilities within the framework, new ecosystem libraries, tools, improved developer and contributor experience, testing, software quality and security. On a day-to-day basis this will involve identifying problems that need to be solved, developing solutions, technical troubleshooting, creating roadmaps and other documents, defining milestones, quantifying success metrics, driving technical program execution, and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
AI Infra TPM - PyTorch Responsibilities
  • Build strong and aligned program teams to efficiently deliver on shared goals.
  • Define, build and lead cross-functional programs to deliver end-to-end solutions which solve various problems in technical and business domains.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and business owners to define program requirements, set priorities, and establish scope which includes defining the roadmap and long-term strategy of the teams that you are partnering with.
  • Define and own what success looks like, metrics & measurement, rollout, and scalable and sustainable operational plan.
  • Manage and drive strategic vendor engagement and deliveries.
  • Lead execution and delivery of solutions to resolve business problems via strategic thinking and on-the-ground leadership.
  • Responsible for defining and delivering on technical requirements that solve people problems and product, platform or infra requirements in conjunction with partners.
  • Proactively identify and analyze complex, long-term, critical infrastructure problems with engineering leaders and stakeholders.
  • Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Manage cross functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively by optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly.
  • Develop and own communication plans to effectively and proactively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Build strong, trusting partnerships to readily mobilize people and influence across a broad range of partners, leaders, and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
  • Experience delivering complex tech programs and/or products from inception to delivery.
  • Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
  • Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
  • Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with open source software development
  • Understanding of AI software life cycle
  • Understanding of AI algorithms and techniques
  • Understanding of Graphics or AI accelerator hardware architecture
  • Understanding of Computer Language and Compiler technology

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
