Public Policy Manager, IP and Media

Meta is seeking an experienced professional to lead our regional public policy strategy on Intellectual Property and Media issues. As Public Policy Manager, you will join the Meta Policy Team in Europe, helping our national policy teams to shape issues and product agendas with policymakers inside and outside of government. You will also advise our internal teams on the public policy implications of our products and wider positions as a company, working with a cross-functional global team. The role requires significant experience either working with or in government, politics, regulatory agencies or think tanks, as well as an ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues. You will need knowledge of existing tech policy issues, including expert knowledge of European copyright policy and the political debates that emanate from this area of policy. You will also need deep knowledge of Europe’s rightsholder landscape, particularly music rightsholders, image rightsholders, news publishers, etc. Equally important is an understanding of how to translate technical issues into persuasive public policy advocacy. You will work with cross-functional teams across Meta to devise and execute on public policy campaigns and to advance Meta's mission to create a more open and connected world. Successful candidates will enjoy public speaking and be excited about the possibility of representing Meta externally, including in difficult, high-stakes conversations with external stakeholders.
Public Policy Manager, IP and Media Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Policy leadership team in Europe to shape and ensure delivery of the regional strategy on copyright in the region
  • Represent Meta to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, technical meetings with regulators, and other public forums
  • Brief senior executives across Meta on the risks and opportunities emerging from the policy and political landscape in Europe
  • Advise Meta’s internal teams on IP and Media policy matters to guide development of products and policies
  • Build winning campaign narratives and third party mobilisation strategies in collaboration with Meta’s Europe Campaigns team and other cross-functional teams
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of legal and/or public policy experience
  • Experience working on European IP and Media policy issues as they relate to the technology sector
  • Fluency in English
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in policy, international affairs, or other related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on the intersection of AI and copyright, including demonstrated thought leadership on this issue
  • 10+ years of legal and/or public policy experience
