The People Risk, Privacy & Compliance team is responsible for developing and implementing employment compliance obligations across the globe. Our compliance programs are designed with scale, experience and systems-led strategies. The Leaves Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting complex Leaves and Time Away cases. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong initiative as well as the ability to think critically through ambiguous situations and prioritize while maintaining a high-level of confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.
Leave of Absence Specialist Responsibilities
  • Provide support to employees and internal stakeholders inquiries in understanding the Time Away policies, process and their responsibilities
  • Oversee complex and escalated matters while performing end-to-end case management
  • Manage day-to-day support for Time Away programs including Absence Management, Workers’ Compensation and Leave Programs, Escalations, and Employee Experience
  • Identify and drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions including reducing the manual efforts through automation
  • Act as liaison between business lines, outsourced LOA vendors and internal partners
  • Represent Leave Operations team as a subject matter expert in all leave and time off programs
  • Facilitate and drive meetings with employees and internal/external stakeholders for issue resolution and follow-up
  • Oversight of external LOA vendor to ensure their compliance with federal, state and company leave policies and procedures and manage issues towards resolution
  • Produce and analyze reports and metrics, including ad hoc reports concerning Time Away trends.
  • Handle private and sensitive data in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment and discretion in supporting complex and private employee matters.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of demonstrated Leave Benefits/Time Away case management experiene
  • Knowledge of Federal and State leave laws
  • Project management and process improvement experience
  • Applied systems thinking with experience having optimized workflows into case management systems.
  • Analytical skills, creativity, and experience working with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated communication experience working in a multi-matrixed environment, including experience communicating concepts to different audiences across an organization.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills and experience to effectively use data to drive recommendations
  • Experience building relationships and influencing others while working cross-functionally.
  • Working knowledge or willingness to quickly learn the content and requirements of various employment laws, regulations, and company compliance policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources
  • HR domain expertise
  • Excel experience including pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and charts/graphs
  • Experience with Salesforce and Workday

$113,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
