The mission of Business Messaging is to be the primary way that people and businesses communicate by delivering expected and valued conversations between people and businesses across WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. Privacy is a critical anchor and value proposition of our messaging products and a key reason why consumers love and use our products. It is our responsibility to enable consumers and businesses to communicate authentically without sacrificing their privacy needs. You will be responsible for leading our privacy thinking across our business messaging portfolio to build products that protect people’s privacy and security. In this role, you will be expected to be a key thought leader within the organization on topics like data sharing and end-to-end encryption and keep track of and stay one step ahead of our competitors. You will work with our Product, Engineering, Policy, Privacy, Legal, Communications and Partnerships teams to ensure all efforts are aligned from inception to launch and beyond — and communicated clearly and with empathy to all key stakeholders. Someone in this role will need to establish a vision, bring new and strategic ideas to the table, clearly communicate complex ideas while managing every step of a launch. You'll be expected to push the boundaries of what's possible in marketing, while sharing in our healthy obsession for quality. You should excel in knowing when to lead or support a cross-functional team and bring out views from all disciplines. Success in this role requires a keen understanding of how our platform is constructed and the ability to dive deep into a technical feature in order to educate external and internal parties. Being data-driven is also a key component to this role as building consensus requires strong quantitative reasoning and an ability to structure qualitative feedback into an overarching viewpoint.
