Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to join our Competition and Regulatory team. Working with a talented and supportive team, you will advise product teams on competition and consumer protection issues, manage investigations and inquiries related to antitrust matters and help develop the company’s legal position and strategy on competition and consumer protection matters throughout the world. Associate General Counsel, Competition and Regulatory Responsibilities
  • Provide teams across the company with counsel on competition and consumer protection issues, and develop practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions
  • Represent the company in connection with competition inquiries by regulators and policymakers across the world
  • Work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement long-term competition and consumer protection strategy
  • Help develop and execute our legal strategy in connection with review of mergers and acquisitions by antitrust regulators
  • Retain and manage outside counsel on competition and consumer protection matters
  • Review and advise on pending and developing competition and consumer protection regulation and developments
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
  • 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
  • Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience representing companies in antitrust inquiries, including conducting investigations and merger reviews
  • Experience developing approaches to legal challenges, providing clear, practical legal guidance, and managing competition and consumer protection risks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience working with web 2.0, social networking, other technology and/or consumer hardware companies
  • Flexibility and eagerness to work on broad range of global legal matters
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with global competition and consumer protection laws and regulators
  • Experience with a wide range of policymaking and regulatory bodies
  • Data protection experience

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
