Meta is seeking an experienced professional to join the International Statutory Controllership team. This is a great role for anyone looking to accelerate their learning, build new things and enjoy the Meta culture. The ideal candidate will be able to work well with cross functional teams and provide accounting guidance for decision making. The candidate will strike a balance on getting the details right while still moving fast enough to support the rapid business growth. The candidate is highly collaborative and able to partner well with internal and external partners at all levels. This role reports to an International Accounting Manager and is based in Singapore.
International Accountant Responsibilities
  • Responsible for achieving timely and accurate statutory financial statements compliance for an assigned portfolio of entities
  • Build relationships and manage service levels with key external vendors and BPO supporting the preparation of financial statements and review the work of our outsourced partners
  • Coordinate and manage the audit process with our statutory auditors for assigned entities
  • Work closely with Meta Tax Teams for the filing of Corporate tax and VAT returns
  • Review Tax-related balance sheet reconciliations monthly and quarterly for US GAAP close for assigned entities
  • Lead and support projects to optimize and transform the INTL Statutory Compliance process by analyzing areas of opportunities. Design, test and roll-out new tools , solutions, processes and frameworks for the INTL Statutory Controllership Team
  • Collaborate with INTL Technical Operations and Technical Accounting Teams in consistent implementation of IFRS and other accounting or non-financial standards for assigned entities
  • Prepare/review technical accounting memos for significant or complex transactions in collaboration with the technical accounting team
  • Collaborate with XFN partners within and outside Finance to execute business objectives, providing support to management where required including any adhoc or project work assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years relevant experience with a fast-growing, multinational company or professional services i.e. Big Four
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Recognized accounting qualification (CA, ACCA)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Able to operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Highly collaborative, excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being comfortable with navigating change
  • Superb attention to detail and possess a macro view
  • Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Second language for work related responsibilities and international working experience is a plus
