Production Engineer Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, operate and test distributed software services to ensure optimal performance and reliability of infrastructure serving company critical back-end databases and services.
  • Operate and develop key relational and key value database product ecosystems.
  • Those services power critical areas like Messenger, Newsfeed, Social Graph and multiple infrastructure critical systems and have to operate with high quality.
  • This includes (but is not limited to) incident responses, incident review, code reviewing, production investigation driven design and development in a highly complex service ecosystem.
  • Serve as escalation contact for services owned by the teams, work on improvements through data driven analysis of production environment and industry best practices to improve or develop new services or components.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Analytics or related field. Foreign degree equivalent accepted. Requires completion of a university-level course, project, internship or thesis in the following:
  • 1. Relational Databases including MySQL
  • 2. Configuring and maintaining applications using at least one of the following: web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems, or messaging systems
  • 3. Software frameworks and APIs
  • 4. Managing, configuring and implementing distributed/high availability systems
  • 5. Building large, highly-scalable performant solutions
  • 6. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues ranging from low-level hardware issues to large scale failures within datacenter clusters.

$258,524/year to $290,180/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
