Meta seeks a dynamic and passionate lawyer who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives to join Meta’s product counseling legal team. You will be supporting the product teams that are working on some of our most significant cross-Meta services and technologies for our youth users. You must have flexibility, the ability to collaborate effectively and help drive decision making across multiple teams within the legal department, as well as across product, engineering, marketing, policy, communications, and other teams. This is a great opportunity to join a growing international legal team and to work on novel issues in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
Associate General Counsel, Product (Youth) Responsibilities
  • Act as legal strategic advisor for our youth well-being product and engineering teams, delivering practical legal risk mitigation strategies in an important space
  • Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across Meta
  • Provide holistic legal advice across many subject areas including AI, data protection/privacy, content regulation, consumer protection, data security and other global legal frameworks
  • Coordinate with policy, public affairs, product management, product marketing, privacy, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, product development, and product launches
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in youth laws and regulations, especially UK and EU
Minimum Qualifications
  • Qualified lawyer in the UK with LLB and/or LLM degree
  • 8+ years PQE in a law firm or relevant in-house experience
  • Experience with one of the following or related legal areas: Product, content or regulatory counseling, consumer protection, and/or privacy
  • Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters, and working with cross-functional organizations to drive alignment
  • Experience working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering practical advice under pressure and operating within ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions, including global youth privacy/content laws and regulations, litigation, and compliance matters
  • Experience supporting a global team at a social media, digital advertising or other technology company
  • Experience with collaborating at all levels of the business including executive and C-suite
