We are looking for a Sensor Test Engineer to contribute to Meta sensor technology innovation and Meta AR/MR, and other wearable device development. This individual will be responsible for building and upgrading optical test stations/systems for imaging sensors (image sensor, dToF sensor, and ALS sensor), new optical test methodology development for new emerging sensor technologies, test automation, data analysis, and conducting imaging sensor characterization and validation.
Sensor Test Engineer Responsibilities
  • Support imaging sensor characterization/validation engineers in the provision of high-quality optical test infrastructure. Work with the team to identify ways to improve existing capabilities and add new ones.
  • Develop new imaging sensor test methodologies to evaluate sensor performance based on MR/AR/SG and other wearable applications
  • Generate intellectual property in novel optical instrumentation for new emerging sensor technologies
  • Responsible for developing standard operating procedure for new developed optical test stations, and responsible for training sensor characterization engineers
  • Contribute to develop automation test scripts using Python, MATLAB or C/C++ for new optical test stations
  • Work as part of the team to perform characterization tests for image sensor/ ALS sensor at both component and device level
  • Collect and perform statistical analysis on test data to correlate to performance metrics
  • Explore novel optical metrology technologies and work with suppliers on prototype development
  • Simulate and directly measure image sensor performance to understand the effect on the 2D and 3D sensing systems applied in MR/AR applications
  • Responsible for testing debugging, root cause analysis, and problem solving
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Optics, Physics, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience in developing optical bench-top test stations in the fields of spectroscopy and microscopy for testing electro-optic effects of new materials
