Network Engineer, Automation and Tooling Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, build, and maintain tools to support network deployment and operation.
  • Design and implement new network architectures.
  • Deploy, implement, and support a variety of network equipment.
  • Configure and add capacity to server load balancers.
  • Add rack-switch capacity in the data center and add peers within established policy framework.
  • Develop automated methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network events.
  • Participate in technical decisions to improve the network landscape.
  • Create and improve both existing and future alerting and monitoring systems.
  • Develop and optimize processes and documentation as well as perform network configuration changes and optimizations across a multivendor, multiprotocol environment.
  • Work on performance measurement to ensure improved efficiency and will create process automation via scripting.
  • Proactively find gaps that impact multiple teams/organizations, come up with the execution plan and drive the project and influence other teams to reach there.
  • Scale Meta's global network by building new infrastructure, analyzing and implementing new architectures, and develop and create of new operational procedures.
  • Work with other team members from partner teams, understand their challenges, help them find solutions and enable them to write code to address it.
  • Drive requirements with vendors and third parties to align our internal tooling efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or in a related field and 36 months of experience in job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 18 months of experience involving the following:
  • 1. Network Automation, NSO, and workflow orchestrators
  • 2. Netgram workflow engine
  • 3. Configurator software distribution system
  • 4. Network solution design for large Service providers and Data Centers
  • 5. REST APIs, and Python programming
  • 6. Building end-to-end automation solution designs and implementing solutions
  • 7. Proof-of-concept testing of both hardware and software automation solutions
  • 8. Building scalable automated data centers and service provider networks and architectures involving MPLS, Segment routing, L2/L3 VPNs, VXLaN, SR-PCE, RSVP tunnels, Scalable fabrics and automated tooling
  • 9. Linux/Unix and
  • 10. L1 network optical equipment including DWDM, SDH, or DCO optics.

$231,280/year to $259,600/year + bonus + equity + benefits
