As the Head of Shared Services for Oculus Studios, you will report to the VP of Oculus Studios, working alongside a small senior leadership team, and managing a 20+ person already-established Operations and Program Management team. In this role, you will also build and scale two new teams cross functional teams reporting to you, drive operational efficiencies, and lead cross functional initiatives across the entire 700+ strong Oculus Studios organization, which consists of ten independently managed First Party studios. In this role, you will leverage your consumer applications/games development experience to help our teams build award-winning, system selling games and fitness applications. As a leader, you will have the ability to build strong partnerships across multiple internal cross functional groups and First Party Studios, instill confidence in both leadership and line personnel, identify gaps and strengths, implement processes across the organization that allow us to run more efficiently as we deliver against our product group’s objectives. You will have experience managing teams, influencing peers and senior management.
Director Shared Services, Oculus Studios at Meta Responsibilities
  • Grow and scale teams, managing Technical Program Managers and Project Managers, with varying levels of seniority.
  • Drive cross-functional Product Group initiatives such as headcount allocation and tracking, budget planning, goal planning and organizational transformation projects.
  • Establish action plans and timelines in line with our organization’s goals and objectives, monitor and hold the team accountable through influence and not direct reporting lines.
  • Proactively identify gaps and inefficiencies across the organization and provide recommendations and solutions.
  • Anticipate the needs of the organization, enabling the leadership team to operate more effectively and efficiently.
  • Lead or partner on special projects across all areas of the Organization.
  • Oversee key communications and reporting across all levels of the organization to drive impactful internal and external messaging and content.
  • Build relationships across the organization to help move ideas forward, fully understanding the health of the business and our people.
  • Provide a sounding board on matters of strategy, execution, operations, and structure to the VP of Oculus Studios.
  • Foster a work environment where team members remain committed and continue to take ownership in delivering content at quality and on time.
  • Ensure cross functional partners have the information they need to execute against their objectives through data accuracy and enforcing best practices with the team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in a fast-moving, high-tech business environment in Technical Program Management, Product Management, Engineering, Management Consulting, Business Operations, Strategic Planning, or a similar function.
  • 10+ years of people management, with at least 5 years managing large teams (20+) of Technical Program Managers and Project Managers with mid-level to senior experience.
  • 5+ years experience with OPEX forecasting and financial modeling with budgets over $50,000,000.
  • Experience driving annual headcount planning across a large organization (500+).
  • Experience with building, growing and scaling teams.
  • Experience with successfully managing hybrid teams.
  • Proven project management skills with the experience to execute autonomously and lead multiple high-profile initiatives of varying timelines simultaneously with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Extensive multi-tasking, prioritization skills and context switching, need to move fast in a quick paced environment and possess the experience to keep calm and collected during times of high pressure.
  • Demonstrated working with ambiguity and cross-functional or highly matrixed teams who do not report directly into you.
  • Significant experience building proven relationships and influencing all levels of the organization.
  • Experience to manage a high degree of complexity and to distill information into simple messages.
  • Solid knowledge of the video game/application development life-cycle, tools and processes from pre-production through to launch and into live services.
  • Experience with strategic and measurable goal definition across an organization.
  • Experience using data to drive decisions.
  • Experience working with external vendors across multiple service lines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Communications, Product Management or relevant experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Experience developing and launching VR applications/games.
  • New hardware development experience.
  • Working directly with first party developers to release content on emerging platforms.
  • Demonstrated interest for video games and familiar with multiple genres of VR, PC and/or console games.

$232,000/year to $298,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
