We are looking for a Network Implementation Engineer (FKA Fibre Delivery Engineer) to join our EMEA network infrastructure group to drive key milestones for critical backbone infrastructure. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will help set the technical requirements and ensure the on-time/on-spec delivery during the execution of the program. You will support Network Development Managers in the development and implementation of strategies to provide Meta with best in class economics and optimal flexibility/scalability. In addition, you will be responsible for reviewing the progress and performance of the fiber delivery and completing the validation and acceptance according to the required criteria. Network Implementation Engineer Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a portfolio of fiber infrastructure suppliers to ensure transparency with project management and information flow.
  • Manage fiber acceptance testing and validation for performance characteristics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage metric-driven supplier quarterly business reviews to evaluate in-life performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Report on key metrics for infrastructure projects: On-time performance, Vendor performance, Monthly and yearly activated services and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with Network Development Managers and ensure key technical requirements are included during the pre contract forming phase.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of technological developments in the telecom wholesale market and position Meta in the right place. Represents Meta network team in conferences and trade shows.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to synchronize fiber deployment schedule with fiber acceptance.
  • Work with data located in different systems, correlate data and build datasets to be used across different tools/systems.
  • Identify internal system workflow improvements to define the requirements for development improvements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BSC/BEng or equivalent in technical or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience in network deployment fiber projects.
  • Experience in terrestrial fiber network design and technology, preferably in both long haul and metro networks.
  • Very good understanding of fiber specs, interpretation of OTDR traces, and fiber handover packages.
  • Experience in relationship building and collaboration within a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in using scripts (Python, SQL), networking related software, frameworks, and APIs.
  • Experience with engaging vendors on aspects of network design, planning and construction, particularly in the EMEA market.
  • Demonstrates proven track record of major deal delivery (at multiple fiber pair scale) and familiarity with permitting and regulatory environment across the EMEA region.
  • Proven track record in project management techniques and tools.
  • Familiarity working with data in different tools and ability to structure/clean data and create correlations.
  • Understanding of subsea systems and associated fiber technologies.
  • Multilingual in 1 or more regional business languages.
