Director & Associate General Counsel, AI
Meta is seeking a talented attorney to lead our legal privacy team’s work on a range of issues related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). This role includes opportunities to advise Meta’s product and business teams on emerging requirements around artificial intelligence and automated decision-making. An ideal candidate for the role will have a solid understanding of core privacy and AI ethics principles and a strong grasp of online technologies. The candidate must be a clear communicator and be able to collaborate across functions, including Meta’s product and business teams. You will join a collegial and growing team of privacy lawyers who identify, evaluate and address privacy risk in light of emerging laws, compliance obligations and policies.
Director & Associate General Counsel, AI Responsibilities
  • Serve as a company expert on global privacy and AI-related laws and regulations
  • Counsel product and business teams on compliance with existing law and on preparation for emerging legal regimes
  • Help respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations related to AI
  • Provide legal advice and day-to-day support to the internal stakeholders, including Meta’s AI Organization and other product and business teams
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years of legal experience, including law firm and/or in-house experience
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one US state bar
  • Experience with AI technologies and with global privacy and AI-related laws, regulations, principles, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, internet and technology companies
  • Business judgment and client counseling experience

  • Experience working on AI-powered products
  • Experience demonstrating initiative in driving solutions cross-functionally
  • Experience managing complex projects
  • Experience leading cross-functional efforts
  • Experience working proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projects
  • Experience working at technology companies

$274,000/year to $352,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
