The Facebook experience is unique not only in scale — nowhere else can your work give people around the world
the power to build community — but also in structure. We build from the bottom up, and that hasn't changed since we were a small team in a single office.
We’re looking for engineering leaders who want to collaborate with team members from many disciplines as we solve new challenges in community integrity, mobile, machine learning (ML), video, camera, infrastructure technology and solutions engineering.
If you're interested in supporting team members who build groundbreaking products to help people build community and bring the world closer together, we'd love to talk. Here's more info about the teams and open job positions for engineering leaders at Facebook.
What we're building together
We're always learning and creating new ways to help people connect with communities using Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and AR/VR. Here are some recent innovations:
At our sixth annual Oculus Connect conference, we shared our vision for VR and our plans to build the future of computing with people at the center. VR helps give people the freedom to be wherever they want and still have the power to connect to the people, places and opportunities that matter most. We revealed innovations that will change the way we interact in VR, and ultimately AR.
Mark Zuckerberg launched F8 with a discussion of the principles that will guide us as we build a more privacy-focused social platform. He shared plans for the technology that will shape the next-generation platforms; make Communities as central as friends in Facebook; make commerce thrive in Instagram; and ensure Messenger and WhatsApp are the fast, secure, private centers of social experience.

The chance to bring people closer together. The freedom to build products from start to finish, and to iterate. The time to take care of yourself and loved ones. And the opportunity to support some of the most talented engineers in the world as we solve technical challenges at an unprecedented scale. That's what brings experienced engineers like these to work with Facebook and our family of apps.
The Profile team is focused on bringing people closer together by helping them understand one another better. As a director of engineering on Facebook's Profile team, Jeff H makes sure his team is healthy and growing as they build new products for Facebook's community of 2 billion people.
