This AR Hardware Product Architect role will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to solve the most critical technical problems in AR design, maturing wearable devices that user’s love through broad product or program technical ownership. Daily tasks will include: diving in to better understand product intent from PMs and creating high-level KPIs and test plans, aligning the user experience across product lines, driving technical down selections for new products, finding the root cause of issues seen in product builds, and exploring new technology avenues to solve our most pressing limitations. This challenge requires great technical depth and breadth along with extraordinary communication skills.
AR Hardware Product Architect Lead Responsibilities
  • Engage with technology project leads and various design verticals in creating the overall system architecture and drive the continued optimization through product execution
  • Establish strategic relationships with product peers in engineering, research, business, design, and user research teams to define the right device KPIs and verification tests
  • Drive transparent and inclusive decisions in complex trade spaces through studies and detailed analyses
  • Decompose product KPIs into subsystem budgets across design verticals (e.g. ME, EE, optics, silicon, thermal, etc.)
  • Deliver product prototypes and derisk architectures with internal teams and external vendors
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or relevant industry experience
  • Previous AR, VR, or Wearables product experience
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware product development, with one or more products successfully shipping to market
  • Proven technical expertise in two or more of the following areas: See-Through Displays, Multi-Sensor Input, Human Computer Interaction, Calibration, Computer Vision, Optomechanical Engineering, Human Vision Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts and drive alignment on product requirements and architecture
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a System Engineering or Architecture role in AR/VR/MR
  • Having worked on and shipped an AR/VR product
  • Previous experience with face-worn devices across different axes of diversity
  • Experience with AR optical processes, supply chain, and fulfillment
  • Expertise in the human visual system

$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
