Business Engineering is looking for impact-focused, entrepreneurial engineering interns ready to bring their ideas and make a difference. Our team is at the intersection of business and innovation where you will execute on solving real-world business challenges through Meta's platforms and community in many of today’s most exciting industries and products. These include Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, Messaging and more. You will write scalable production-grade code across Meta's platforms in collaboration with other product engineering teams. You will get to learn and build on different tech stacks and languages. You will use your entrepreneurial passion and the freedom that the role provides to create your own opportunities and choose how you make an impact. The work we do exceeds the boundaries of what is possible quickly, and at scale. Our work transcends technology and ensures the solutions we build translates into prosperity for all. Our approach aims to maximize positive impact for our partners as well as the billions of people that use their products and services. This is a 12 week internship position.
Business Engineer, Intern Responsibilities
  • Builds new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams to meet business needs
  • Actively seek out and apply knowledge of products, technologies and business to build solutions to solve for problems at scale
  • Independently break down coding projects into tasks and partner with all applicable teams and partners to meet pre-established goals
  • Ship and launch production level code in manageable pieces, with relevant descriptions, test plans, documentation, unit integration tests
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback while quickly actioning feedback from code reviews conducted of your code
  • Maintain relationships with partner teams and clients (internal and external) and present technical opportunities in a consulting capacity
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related field
  • Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, Objective-C, JavaScript)
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects
  • Demonstrated software engineering experience from a previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
  • Experience communicating to an audience
  • Experience working in highly collaborative environments
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
