Meta is looking for a dynamic, flexible, team player to serve as Lead Counsel, Labor & Employment, EMEA, on the Employment Law & Investigations team for 14 months (Short Term Employment). This position is based in London, but will be responsible for EMEA-wide employment law support.
Employment Counsel, EMEA (STE) Responsibilities
  • Providing strategic employment law advice on all aspects of the employee life cycle to our People@ team across EMEA, including human resources, recruiting, payroll, people operations, compensation and benefits, immigration and employee relations teams.
  • Partnering with internal teams to build processes and playbooks for recurring employee-related matters. Working on other region wide projects and initiatives.
  • Drafting and revising employment related agreements and policies, including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, employee handbooks, and other employment related documents, applicable to Meta’s various global employees.
  • Supporting employment litigation as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of law or equivalent degree.
  • Qualified lawyer, ideally in an EMEA jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant post qualification experience in labor and employment counseling, and a willingness to learn employment law in new jurisdictions.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to move fast and learn quickly, and comfortable in dealing with complex issues that do not have a clear solution.
  • Candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to provide practical advice and bring strategic and scalable solutions.
  • Candidate must be willing to work extended hours when necessary to connect with colleagues from other regions and be flexible to travel globally.
