The RL Softgoods Team is focused on developing and seamlessly integrating softgoods elements into all RL products (Mixed and Augmented Reality). We focus on delivering design solutions that improve the user experience in terms of comfort, ergonomics and fit while delivering on design goals. The RL Softgoods team seeks a Technical Program Manager who has experience as a TPM in Softgoods development. As a Softgoods TPM, you will be responsible for collecting cross-functional inputs to support the team in designing, validating, and delivering products at scale. You have a passion for problem solving and love finding creative solutions to help teams accomplish bold things. The products we work on help connect the world closer together and we contribute with each box we design.
Technical Program Manager, Reality Labs Softgoods Responsibilities
  • Technical Program Manager for RL softgoods including MR, AR, and/or new devices
  • End-to-end coordination of softgoods engineering, design, and validation from product discovery through launch
  • Lead collaboration with industrial design, engineering, creative, legal, product management, compliance and operations to realize the product vision
  • Guide the team through ambiguous requirements definition, sourcing cross-functional inputs and influencing to find an optimized solution
  • Drive the execution of the schedule and manage day to day activities of the program
  • Present program updates to leadership, distilling key program information and highlighting risks and recommended mitigations
  • Implement process improvements and best practices for the organization
  • Collaborate closely with APAC suppliers for builds
  • ~10% international and domestic travel
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on program management experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in consumer electronics design cycles
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and softgoods suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in mechanical engineering
  • Experience working on JDM (joint design and manufacturing) supplier engagement projects
  • Extensive knowledge of softgoods materials and manufacturing processes
  • 5+ years of hands on program management experience

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
