At Reality Labs Research, our goal is to explore, innovate, and design the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Operations Program Manager to join our Research Operations Team where our mission is to drive and influence operational efficiency and effectiveness in Research. We accomplish this by ensuring our teams have access to best-in-class lab and facilities resources and that internal partnerships with safety, security, and corporate facilities organizations remain strong. The Operations Program Manager will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will program manage cross functional operations efforts, including planning and building out new lab spaces, inventory management, business continuity, safety, and optimizing the use of research facilities.
Operations Program Manager Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement measurable improvements to the operational capacity of our research facilities and laboratories.
  • Own key cross-functional relationships on behalf of the organization including facilities, employee health and safety, culinary, security, transportation and more.
  • Manage lab and facilities transition planning when new research teams/projects onboard and/or reorganizations occur, including working with the facilities organization to plan, build, and revise lab and seating spaces to accommodate these changes.
  • Proactively identify potential challenges to research efforts and collect needs from the teams, building plans to address and improve roadblocks to onsite amenities, lab operations, and project milestones.
  • Represent the Campus and Research organization interests during catastrophe and crisis management planning, mock exercises, and real-time incidents. Identify and champion improvements to key stakeholders and process owners.
  • Serve as business lead for global business continuity planning efforts.
  • Work across our team, larger organization, and with partners across the company to learn and share expertise, align on best practices, and communicate status of improvements and projects using industry best practices and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as an onsite operations program manager, project manager, or business program manager at a technology company, research institution, or similar organization.
  • 3+ years working on technical facilities.
  • A track record of planning, executing, and delivering results for complex and cross-functional technical projects.
  • Experience navigating complex relationships between teams to drive solutions and unified plans.
  • Interpersonal and inter-team skills, including: partnership building, mentorship, and conflict resolution across a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Experience in managing lab and facilities operations for a fast-moving technology, university, or research organization and who can support a centralized team focused on research strategy and lab operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of people management experience, especially managing project, program, or operations managers.
  • 2+ years of experience managing operations at a technology startup or research lab.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing or technical leadership at a large technology company.

$116,000/year to $166,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
