The Language Management team under i18n at Meta is looking for an experienced European Spanish Language Manager to join our team. As the Spanish Language Manager, Reality Labs, you will be responsible for the localization quality of European Spanish (es_ES) as well as Latin American Spanish (es_LA) for our Reality Labs products and content. This role will ensure that we deliver a great linguistic experience to our Spanish speaking audience, and your background in translation or localization for consumer devices and gaming content will be essential in helping us achieve this goal. To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable working with teams across different time zones and have experience collaborating with product teams and regional stakeholders. Spanish Language Manager, Reality Labs Responsibilities
  • Reviewing, editing and/or translating high visibility UI and long-form content and documents in es_ES for Reality Labs products
  • Conducting localization screenshot testing in es_ES to identify linguistic and functional issues
  • Collaborating with product teams and performing hands-on hardware linguistic testing in es_ES on next generation of AR/VR devices
  • Working closely with our Localization Program Management team to support product launches and driving efforts to ensure linguistic quality from end to end during the product launch cycles
  • Collaborating with our Localization Program Management team to drive product or vertical-specific, locale-agnostic language quality initiatives
  • Partnering with our Vendor Management, when needed, on selecting translation vendors, driving vendor probation, and supporting vendors’ ramp-up for es_ES and es_LA
  • Driving or supporting cross-functional and/or team level locale-agnostic quality framework and/or programs at scale
  • Building and scaling stakeholder education programs for internal cross-functional partners and external vendors to ensure language quality from end to end
  • Closely monitoring vendor translation quality in es_ES and es_LA through our quality framework and managing translation vendors' performance as needed
  • Maintaining the localization glossaries, style guides, and TM for Reality Labs content in es_ES and es_LA, keeping them up to date and audience appropriate
  • Working closely with in-country stakeholders to deliver market-appropriate localization in es_ES
  • Performing other linguistic tasks as needed
  • Traveling domestically and internationally to collaborate with teammates and partners
Minimum Qualifications
  • Native fluency in European Spanish and business proficiency in English
  • 5+ years of experience in English-to-Spanish product UI localization
  • Familiarity with the culture and trends from Spain
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cross-functional experience working with engineers, product teams and regional stakeholders
  • Experience in AR, VR, smart home devices, Meta Reality Labs products (Quest/smart glasses) or related technologies
  • Experience in hardware localization and testing
  • Experience in localization of gaming content
  • Experience in localization of online and mobile products
  • Experience in localization project management
  • Familiarity with digital marketing
  • Knowledge of additional languages beyond native language and English
