Meta is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for the Avatars & Identity team. Meta Avatars are the way people are embodied in the metaverse and they allow people to feel present together seamlessly across spaces. They represent you so you can hang out with others in experiences that go beyond the limitations of the physical world. At Meta, Technical Program Managers lead programs in an extremely cross-functional, interdependent space to create experiences. They navigate challenging headwinds to solve the most ambiguous problems and land technical impact resulting in user outcomes. The ideal candidate is an experienced program leader with a games industry or other 3D interactive technology background and a passion for virtual reality and collaborative online social experiences.
Technical Program Manager - Avatars & Identity Responsibilities
  • Sought-after subject matter expert for technical domain.
  • Leads identifying, understanding, evaluating, and resolving key technical problems for the organization.
  • Expands or bootstrats programs in ambiguous and contentious areas to achieve long-term goals across several programs. Delivers impact at the cross-org level.
  • Proactively develops and/or influences strategic direction impacting the big picture and long-term plans.
  • Drives consensus across organizations by expertly crafting technically-complex messages with the right context.
  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of technical industry experience, including 6+ years of program or product management experience.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Track record of clearly communicating ambiguous, complex, novel problems & solution tradeoffs to land cross-org impact.
  • Demonstrated end-to-eng ownership and thought leadership, driving prioritization, and pre/post-launch execution, risk management, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 12+ years of technical industry experience, including 8+ years of program or product management experience.
  • Track record of influencing large groups of leaders in ambiguous/complex program or product spaces.
  • Experience in MR, gaming, or similar.

$167,000/year to $230,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
