We’re the team that drives our strategic and program investments to enhance and advance mitigation against violations of Meta’s IP policies and procedures. We are responsible for upholding protection of IP on Meta’s platform, tackling complex legal issues through product-driven and programmatic strategy, and navigating the changing landscape on the Internet. We are constantly balancing mitigating legal risk with making the world more open and connected while scaling our operations to support Meta’s 3 billion users and the broader rights holder and regulatory community. As a Program Manager within our global Intellectual Property (IP) Operations team, you will set goals and priorities for key program investments to increase efficiency and improve operational processes and maturity. You will address new and emerging risks, and bring a product-driven mindset to balancing legal and regulatory obligations. A strong candidate will be highly effective at cross-functional leadership, influencing strategy, and ensuring strong workflow health and operational excellence.
Program Manager, IP Operations Responsibilities
  • Build out and strengthen operational processes and systems to deliver on efficient IP reporting, innovative risk mitigation, and operational health.
  • Drive and enable strategies and roadmaps for prioritized operational investments and align to broader organizational goals across our global IP program.
  • General program management to identify opportunities and see challenges before they arise, predict roadblocks, strengthen cross-functional relationships, and execute on plans.
  • Ideate and inform development of team goals. Work with team members on strategies for executing, measuring progress and sharing results that enable the team to identify efficiency gains and improvements, while developing and partnering on upstream product-driven solutions at scale.
  • Develop, lead, and influence solutions to optimize operational processes that reduce IP violations and improve quality and efficiency in supporting reports from rights holders, working closely with key cross-functional partners, including Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy.
  • Expertly negotiate, assess, and communicate trade-offs for operational decisions with the broader cross-functional team to optimize processes and increase maturity.
  • Align and support operational readiness needs, workflow change delivery and program consultation as related to IP workflows.
  • Hold stakeholders accountable when progress on operational readiness is in jeopardy, while maintaining respectful relationships in difficult situations.
  • Drive effective, concise and persuasive program communications, including root cause analysis, internal/external escalations coordination and communications to leadership, and business recommendations for broader stakeholder groups.
  • Understand Meta’s strategic, legal and compliance position and deliver outcomes that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience working in consulting, strategy, operations or equivalent program management experience or educational degree in project management, business, marketing, finance or operations
  • Effective critical thinking and experience leveraging data to anticipate and unblock problems and drive solutions
  • Proven time-management and organizational skills
  • Experience working with engineering teams to develop and improve operational systems and tools
  • Experience driving collaboration of cross-functional teams, coordinating effectively, and inspiring others
  • Experience resolving conflicts by finding win-win scenarios, identifying tradeoffs, and setting clear priorities
  • Experience in controlling risk and setting priorities
  • Experience communicating effectively via various formats, timezones and audiences, including within operations teams and across with key stakeholders and senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience & expertise working in IP, legal/compliance areas, or trust and safety roles
  • Data skills and reporting experiences with demonstrated skill in using data to communicate impact
  • Experience resolving and communicating about issues with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience influencing across functional organizations and/or teams with varying priorities or business goals
  • Experience working across global regions

$97,000/year to $139,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
