Failure Analysis Engineer Responsibilities
  • Identify and define the right methodologies and techniques and execute focused characterization projects to drive root-cause analysis.
  • Perform detailed root cause analysis on technically complex failures.
  • Measure data using a suite of techniques and provide mitigation actions, cross-correlate the data and present interpretations focused on the outstanding issue.
  • Collaborate with various teams to transform hardware components into an integrated reliable product by pushing the boundaries on what Meta can do in the realm of AR/VR program, and the broader Meta hardware technologies.
  • Function as a liaison between different groups, develop an understanding in materials by correlating its properties to performance and failures, address failure mechanisms and suggest possible solutions.
  • Acquire knowledge on different tools, support material durability studies, develop standard operating protocols, and coordinate the use of multiple instruments.
  • Perform hands-on work with various tools including x-ray imaging, microscopy, and spectroscopy techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Employer will accept a Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Management Systems Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4 years of work experience in job offered or in a materials or process-related occupation.
  • Experience must include 4 years of experience in the following:
  • 1. Performing detailed root cause analysis on technically complex failures
  • 2. Solution based root cause analysis on mechanical, electric, electronic components
  • 3. Electrical fault isolation
  • 4. Microelectronics and Board level failures
  • 5. Solving reliability failures on PCBA
  • 6. Diverse non-destructive and destructive FA techniques.

$234,318/year to $243,691/year + bonus + equity + benefits
