Integrity Science Engineers have the opportunity to work on many of the most challenging, complicated, and high-visibility problems the company faces. From child safety, to scams and account takeover. The work we do impacts billions of people who use Meta products. Our focus on technical investigations, data analysis, machine learning and adversarial thinking as well as our end-to-end understanding of detection and remediation systems allows us to collaborate seamlessly with software engineering, data science, and operations to build processes, tools and capabilities necessary to enforce Facebook community standards at scale.
Successful candidates are curious, have bias towards action, are good at finding patterns amid chaos, and enjoy building and leveraging full understanding of phenomena they’re dealing with. The perfect candidate will have a background in a quantitative or technical field, will have an extensive experience dealing with online adversaries, will be comfortable with large data sets, complex products and detection systems, and will have in-depth experience in data-driven decision making.
This position is located in our London office.
Integrity Science Engineer Responsibilities
Apply your expertise in online abuse, technical investigations and data analysis to identify opportunities to make Facebook’s response to abuse of its platforms measurably better
Work independently or partner with software engineering, data science and operations to leverage those opportunities at scale
Contribute to a variety of codebases across Facebook’s technical stack: Haskell, python, php
Be a thought leader, bring your deep understanding of online abuse and adversarial behaviours to software engineering teams, and guide teams’ overall direction
Be comfortable with quickly changing priorities, adversarial shifts and multiple initiatives running simultaneously
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years experience doing quantitative analysis.
BA/BS in Computer Science, Math/Finance, Physics, Applied Economics, Statistics or other technical field. Advanced degrees.
Experience with relational databases and SQL.
Experience coding in at least one of the following: PHP, Python, Haskell, or Java.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working across the broader anti-abuse/security/Trust & Safety community
Experience investigating and acting on high-impact threats and online threat actors
Proven track record of managing and executing on short term and long term projects
Experience in adversarial space like financial fraud, spam, child safety.

Demonstrated understanding of security and integrity risks, and how they apply to Facebook and its users
Experience working in an environment with minimal oversight, being self-driven, prioritising and executing independently.
