Meta’s U.S. Public Policy team is seeking a Public Policy leader to support our competition and consumer protection executive branch engagement and advocacy. In addition to collaborating day-to-day with U.S. Public Policy colleagues, you'll work closely with legal, communications, and extended policy verticals. In this role, you will assist in the formulation and implementation of the company’s competition and consumer protection policy engagement and advocacy strategy. This role will also monitor and analyze competition- and consumer protection-related policy trends for the company and relevant stakeholders, including matters relating to rulemakings and other agency actions, federal legislation, and civil society thought leadership. Candidates should be detail-oriented, creative, resourceful, analytical, and knowledgeable about emerging competition and consumer protection policy issues. They should have experience presenting to policymakers and supporting meetings between principals. Candidates should be comfortable meeting high expectations and prepared to guide, direct, and execute quickly.
Public Policy Director, U.S. (Competition Policy) Responsibilities
  • Analyze and develop policy strategy and positions
  • Identify, monitor, and analyze agency/congressional/regulatory competition and consumer protection issues impacting Meta at the federal level
  • Represent Meta to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, coalition meetings, and in various working groups
  • Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings
  • Advise Meta teams on policy matters to guide development of services and policies
  • Advance Meta’s public policy priorities within the broader U.S. public policy community
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and deepening of relationships with agency officials, coalitions, academic experts, and other stakeholders in the competition and consumer protection policy space
  • Identify changing business and regulatory trends and develop proactive competition and consumer protection policy strategies
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years of legal and/or public policy experience
  • Experience in substantive competition and consumer protection legal or policy matters
  • Project management experience
  • Experience presenting to policymakers and other principals, consensus building, and making policy recommendations
  • Bachelor degree in policy, international affairs, or other related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor or equivalent and 12+ years of experience in public policy
  • Experience in federal agency enforcement, policy development, and rulemaking processes
  • Experience working on campaigns or complex litigation/regulatory matters
  • Experience working in technology policy

$228,000/year to $291,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
