Build and create with Enterprise Engineering

Welcome to Enterprise Engineering

Enterprise engineers design and execute products, tools and services to help power Meta employees. The team looks at technology from a creative perspective and builds innovative, people-centric enterprise solutions that deliver seamless experiences for Meta employees that use them. The team removes friction from employees’ lives, allowing them to work more efficiently and have more connected experiences at work. This means looking at everything from internal infrastructure and operations, to events and enterprise products.
Unlike traditional IT teams, EE doesn't bend the company to fit complex third-party software. Instead, our team builds custom product solutions tailored to the unique needs of Meta. To create better experiences for our global teams, and to power our growth, scale and productivity, it makes more sense to engineer what we need, rather than retrofit a one-size-fits-all solution. We are now extending some of these innovative solutions to benefit our enterprise customers through Workplace.
The Enterprise Engineering (EE) team has an impact on every single employee at Meta. What Facebook is to the world, Enterprise Engineering is to Meta. So while Meta builds the technologies that bring together billions of people around the world, Enterprise Engineering brings our internal Meta community closer together.

Locations and teams

With teams located in 20 different countries, from Tel Aviv to Singapore, London to São Paulo and Seattle to New York City, the Enterprise Engineering team truly touches all corners of the globe. Our team is made up of a number of specialty groups that bring unique skills and perspectives to drive innovation, not only within Meta, but within the industry. Here’s a breakdown of some of the work they do:
  • Enterprise Products: Works with a wide range of business partners including finance, legal, data center operations, facilities, supply chain, and security to build products that help create an exceptional and efficient work environment. This team builds solutions to enable shop, buy and use experiences for Meta consumer offerings such as Portal. Enterprise Products also builds finance and compliance products that process over $50 billion in annual revenue while ensuring that Meta complies with statutory and legal requirements. They create knowledge, marketing & sales tools that increase automation and efficiency and empower our marketing teams to reach billions of consumers. They provide many safety and workspace products that help keep our people and our company safe and productive including Safety Check for Workplace, a product that brings crisis response capabilities to companies on the Workplace platform. They build supply chain products that manage the complex procurement and operational requirements related to all of Meta’s 15 data centers and 50+ campuses around the world. The Enterprise Products team also runs the Productivity Labs group which focuses on building reusable tools and components that can be leveraged across EE to accelerate development and increase productivity.
  • Enterprise Operations: Manages collaboration tools, like email and video chat, that boost workforce productivity by making operations invisible and seamless. Enterprise Operations includes Meta Video Production, a global in-house production service that offers video and audio solutions, and the Events team, which produces world-class studio events and gaming tournaments around the world. This team also includes Helpdesk, which provides quality support experiences to each individual and gives them the personal technology tools they need to be productive and the Supply Chain team that builds products to successfully manage our services at scale.
  • Enterprise Infrastructure and Security: Builds the backbone of our infrastructure, from the global network and compute environments necessary to support the company's rapid growth globally, to creating application platforms to enable teams to self-serve their applications needs or ML powered data services to monitor and optimize company wide data pipelines. The team also provides identity orchestration and access management technologies that give all employee and contingent workforces a transparent and secure access to all necessary assets. Finally, the team builds cutting-edge ultra high performance environments to support our R&D efforts for Meta's AR/VR products.
  • People Engineering: Builds the tools to find, grow and keep people at Meta. This team uses technology, data, and research to build solutions for every stage of the employee lifecycle. For example, the team uses machine learning to help align referrals with the right roles and connect candidates with the right recruiters, and Work Chat bots to solicit feedback from employees via the most convenient channel.
  • Business Operations: This team enables more cross functional collaboration between EE pillars and our XFN partners, increases transparency on important topics and clarifies the EE strategy. They also boost our brand by highlighting our people, product and engineering successes, and create frameworks and processes to make us a more efficient organization. For example, when Meta needed to bring up a new data center and migrate all applications and services from one to the other, a team of Technical Program Managers supported this multi-faceted migration by developing execution plans and managing the program across teams.

Opportunity to pioneer the future of enterprise

As Meta expands its global presence, the EE team is also keeping up with growth. All Meta employees use EE services, making the team’s scale and impact unprecedented. The solution-seekers and bold builders of the EE team see problems as opportunities, and they draw on a breadth of skills (technology, people, business) to further the success of Meta and every Meta employee.
With a scope of work spanning products, operations, business intelligence, infrastructure and technology services, there's a wide variety of opportunities within EE. We hire enterprise engineers, product managers, data scientists, product designers and more. The team’s global presence will continue to grow, and along with it, the opportunities to make an impact through new products and partnerships. Most importantly, the team has an opportunity to define next generation technology by helping our clients, partners and the broader industry understand how to better serve rapidly expanding global businesses at scale. EE is setting a high benchmark for the industry and pioneering the future of enterprise.
