Meta Reality Labs Research brings together world-class experts to develop next-generation systems for virtual, augmented and mixed reality experiences. The Imaging team at Display Systems Research is seeking innovative research interns to develop groundbreaking imaging technologies for mixed reality. We welcome PhD students with strong backgrounds in Machine Learning, 3D Computer Vision and Graphics, in particular with research experience in generative models, neural 3D reconstruction, neural rendering, view synthesis and computational photography. Our internships are sixteen (16) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Research Scientist Intern, 3D Computer Vision and Generative Modeling (PhD) Responsibilities
  • Conceive and develop 3D computer vision and generative imaging algorithms.
  • Collaborate with the larger Meta Reality Labs Research team and provide creative direction on the project.
  • Publish research results in top-tier venues.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of deep learning, computer vision, computer graphics or related technical fields.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.
  • 2+ years experience with deep learning software libraries such as PyTorch.
  • Past experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Prior experience with Meta can be considered to supplement an applicant’s prior years of experience or types of prior experience to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Machine learning experience in diffusion models, neural 3D reconstruction, neural rendering, view synthesis, computational photography or related topics.
  • Broad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from cameras to high-level algorithms.
  • Intent to return to a degree-program after the completion of the internship.
