Meta is seeking a product-focused strategic thinker to join its Product Policy team. In this role, you will work closely with MR/AR developer, product and engineering teams to provide policy counsel and to craft policies to help build new products and systems with safety, integrity, privacy, transparency and expression in mind, while understanding core business priorities. You’ll accomplish this goal by working with a range of cross-functional stakeholders, such as other policy, product, legal, comms, design, and marketing teams. The ideal candidate will have an active interest in emerging technologies and policy work, will thrive in a fast-paced environment, and share our vision of giving people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.
Product Policy Manager, Reality Labs Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and provide policy guidance and language that anticipates and minimizes integrity and business risks arising from new products and features
  • Manage our developer and creator policies and protocols for creating new apps and experiences on our platform
  • Partner with teams to maintain and further develop products to mitigate abuse, and design policies to keep users and the platform safe
  • Work with engineers, designers, lawyers, product managers, and others to help product teams address policy, legal, engineering, user interface, business, and marketing requirements
  • Articulate policy rationale, emerging regulatory risks, and product changes to relevant internal parties, including management, operations, product teams, and other stakeholders
  • Providing policy guidance to internal and external stakeholders on issues ranging from safety to fairness and transparency to human rights
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in policy, policy enforcement, law, law enforcement, product design, product marketing, product management or related field
  • Degree in political science, policy, law, communications, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working autonomously and cross-functionally to apply analytical thinking to solving ambiguous, complex problems
  • Experience with consensus building in a highly matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with app developers and developer policy management
  • Experience with AR/VR/MR or AI technologies
  • Experience developing formal policy documentation for wide-ranging audiences
  • Experience dealing with escalations and/or time-sensitive issues

$119,000/year to $177,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
