Meta is looking for an analytical thinker with experience in policy, government, business operations, or consulting to join our Misinformation Policy team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for our products that empower expression and foster a safe environment for people across our platforms. As a Policy Manager, you will work closely with a number of other teams at Facebook and Instagram, including our Product, Global Operations, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy teams. You will play a key role in developing, applying, and communicating our Community Standards both internally and externally. You will also manage high-profile policy escalations. At times, you will be expected to make difficult decisions, under pressure. You will be a detail-oriented, execution-minded professional who can think strategically, adapt quickly, and rapidly earn credibility and trust across all levels of the organization. In this role, you will critically analyze and communicate the costs and benefits of refinements to policies and their implementation. You should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve. Given the demands of content-related escalations, you will sometimes be expected to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, or weekends.
Misinformation Policy manager Responsibilities
  • Help craft and implement misinformation policies that take into consideration the needs of a global community.
  • Collaborate with Policy, Product, Operations, Communications and External Stakeholders to drive policy improvements.
  • Act as a global point of contact for high-priority escalations and manage internal communications for policy issues.
  • Help articulate policy philosophy, launches, and changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing policies and develop scalable solutions.
  • Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Public Policy, Communications, Operations, Product, and Legal.
  • Join the centralized Policy on-call roster to help field policy questions on high priority escalations, with an expectation to think critically about complex problems and exercise judgment under time pressure.
  • Given the demands of policy-related escalations, you may be expected to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, or weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in project management, policy development, government, or operations
  • Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience
  • Experience communicating cross-functionally, particularly in the area of consensus-building and persuasion
  • Effective communication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with international Internet/social media content issues
  • Understanding of Meta’s products and principles
  • Experience working with diverse cross-functional teams
  • Experience to grasp technical details and formulate related policy recommendations
