This role will help define and transform Instagram Search into a premiere experience for millions of users who are seeking the best content and creators on our platforms. It involves partnering closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, data scientists and researchers to define and build the future of Instagram Search, drawing from a demonstrated analytical understanding of search (full-stack) and ML systems, operating large products at scale, navigating complex tradeoffs, and understanding the overall Instagram mission.
Product Manager, Instagram Search Responsibilities
  • Is the primary driver for identifying significant opportunities, and driving product vision, strategies and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals.
  • Leads and motivates a team of engineers and other cross-functional representatives, and maintains team health.
  • Incorporate data, research and market analysis to inform product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Understand Instagram’s strategic and competitive position to deliver products that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry.
  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years product management or related industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in building industry-leading search products.
  • A Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a technical environment with a broad, cross functional team to drive product vision, define product requirements, coordinate resources from other groups (design, legal, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones.
  • Experience in gathering requirements across diverse areas and users, and converting and developing them into a product solution.
  • Experience in analyzing complex, large-scale data sets and making decisions based on data.
  • Experience delivering technical presentations, and a proven track record of effective communications skills.
  • Displaying leadership, organizational and execution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in building industry-leading, large scale search products.
  • Demonstrated interest and domain experience in large language models, generative AI, retrieval augmented generation.
  • Experience recruiting and leading a cross-functional team.

$171,000/year to $238,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
