Performance and Capacity Engineer Responsibilities
  • Work with Product Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to find the optimal way to scale the infrastructure.
  • Own end-to-end product design, launch, and operation: Support the design and development of novel performance tooling and infrastructure.
  • Tackle hardware/software performance issues: Analyze and debug difficult server performance issues, identify bottlenecks and optimize product/service performance to improve user experience.
  • Solve software performance issues: Work with software developers closely to improve code base performance (e.g.
  • algorithm redesign), reduce resource consumption and shorten request latency.
  • Develop tools to monitor billions of user requests: monitoring, reporting, data-mining tools to do performance and capacity-related tests and analysis.
  • Provide deepest visibility to what is going on for all products: Run capacity and performance experiments to determine scaling and utilization parameters for various service tiers.
  • Work across engineering function to develop cutting-edge technologies for performance analysis and remediation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Experience must include 3 years of experience in the following:
  • 1. Coding & scripting languages such as C, C++, C #, Java, PHP or Python
  • 2. Software engineering
  • 3. Analytical budgeting and planning
  • 4. Experience with Performance monitoring, tuning, benchmarking and modeling
  • 5. Understanding of cloud and distributed systems components, building blocks and concepts
  • 6. Technical Presentation Skills written/oral
  • 7. Experience working in xfn teams and in a collaborative team environment
  • 8. Design dashboards.

$185,000/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
