The Meta Reality Labs team is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. As an Electrical Engineering Intern in Metaverse Prototyping Team, you will employ your expertise in problem solving and prototyping to accelerate product development across Metaverse hardware organization. You will collaborate with teams within Hardware Engineering, Research and Development, and Industrial Design. The team is responsible for rapidly building and iterating polished high-fidelity prototypes and development platforms that bring new ideas to life by expressing design intent and user experience - using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task. We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern who has a passion for working across disciplines to turn early cutting edge concepts and technologies into reality. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for circuit design, layout, bring-up and debug as part of prototype and concept development. You must be able to work with minimal guidance, demonstrate a high attention to detail, be partnership-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills. You must be a self-starter, well-organized and have excellent communication skills.
Electrical Engineer Intern, Mixed Reality (BS/Masters) Responsibilities
  • Help on various power validation/peak measurement for different options on Phoenix,
  • Design power slamjack to replace e-load (less inductance higher power)
  • Validate the new highspeed power measurement tools
  • Develop homemade power tool GUI interface, enable easy use of tool by engineers on their desk
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in several of the following topics: LDO & DC/DC converters, power management methods, and analog design
  • Experience with microcontrollers, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc.
  • Experience with mixed-signal board-level design
  • Hands-on experience with debugging and related equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers, etc.)
  • Collaboration and excellent communication skills with experience with cross-team and cross-geography collaboration
  • Experience with Altium or Cadence design tools
  • Experience working with Python for scripting and GUI design for MAC and Windows
  • Experience working with firmware/software teams to define and implement firmware, drivers and algorithms
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary product engineering team, with oversight into mechanical, electrical, and firmware workstreams and integration between disciplines
  • Understanding of Meta products and technologies
  • Experience integrating RF technologies such as WIFI, BT, GPS, etc
  • Experience with cameras and optical systems
  • Experience with Android/Linux systems
  • Experience leading and driving design development from schematic capture, PCB layout through assembly
  • Experience with programming in C/C++ for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis
  • Experience with programming in python for data collection and analysis.
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
