The Regulatory Readiness Obligation Management team works across regulatory domains (e.g. Privacy, Integrity, Security) and partners closely with Legal, Policy, Operations, and Product to understand and respond to key external pressures that could impact Meta's businesses. We work with our partners to develop and scale Meta’s end-to-end Regulatory Readiness program. The Regulatory Readiness Program Manager supporting a given regulatory area is central to ensuring Product is able to identify how external pressures may impact current and/or future product plans.
This role is suitable for those seeking to work closely with product teams on a daily basis, and for those seeking to more deeply understand how regulatory, competitive, and legal matters relate to Meta's data practices and product offerings. As this is a highly visible role that requires leadership, excellent stakeholder management, technical know-how, and operational excellence, the successful candidate should thrive in ambiguous, cross-functional environments and have a desire to solve big, hard problems.
This role will work with leadership including executives at the company, on some of the biggest priorities for the company.
Regulatory Readiness Program Manager Responsibilities
Lead coordination of Meta’s response to laws, regulations, and other external pressures related to privacy, data practices, and other regulatory risks.
Work across a broad range of partners to define requirements, develop and align on a response strategy to key external pressures that could impact Meta’s business.
Ensure Product is aware of external pressures identified by Legal, Policy, and teams working forecasting and analysis of the competitive landscape.
Lead gap analyses that allow Product teams to more easily identify deltas between new regulations and existing product and/or strategic positions.
Mentor and guide other Program Managers in supporting new types of regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve process and collaboration between teams working on regulatory responses–especially opportunities for alignment between Regulatory Readiness Program Managers.
Identify conflicting requirements and initiatives being worked on by the teams focused on different risk domains (e.g. Privacy, Content Integrity, Security, etc.).
Scale the capacity of the Regulatory Readiness team through process optimization,training and mentoring others, and .
Drive progress on priority work-streams and deliverables and help build decision-making frameworks.
Prepare communication materials and progress tracking for multiple audiences, including executive company leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, business operations, program management, regulatory operations, or other operational discipline.
4+ years of experience working within a product environment and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including legal, policy and product functions
4+ years of experience working on privacy OR in a role associated with data protection, regulatory response, operational risk management, compliance, audit and implementation of control frameworks, or information security.
Proven project management, problem solving, time-management and organizational skills, and the experience to set strategic priorities combined with a demonstrated history of delivering operational results.
Demonstrated experience orienting towards solutions in the context of competing perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management / Program Management Certification(s)
Demonstrated knowledge of the applicability of privacy requirements (e.g. Privacy, Integrity, Security)to a global tech company, and experience evaluating products or processes to ensure compliance with applicable requirements
