Meta is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) with expertise in display calibration to lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of display calibration solutions. This role will involve collaboration with internal engineering teams, external vendors, and specialized teams to drive proof of concept generation, design, integration, development, and validation of display calibration technologies.
Technical Program Manager - Display Calibration Responsibilities
  • Lead end to end calibration for display modules, optical modules, and display systems for AR/MR displays.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive display calibration program plan, including scope, requirements, schedule, implementation, and resource allocation. Define and drive the technical strategy for display calibration, including the selection of calibration methods, tools, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with and lead cross functional teams in the pursuit of shipping 0-1 products: requirements definition, identifying and managing key constraints, and mapping development plans against program risks with strategies to enable success.
  • Manage projects with suppliers and partners, from creating statements of work to driving final deliverables in collaboration with Ops, Business Development, Legal, and Procurement.
  • Evaluate suppliers’ capabilities to meet product requirements, partner with the ops team to establish a robust and scalable supply chain strategy.
  • Operate at different levels of abstraction, from high-level strategic planning (System architecture, technology selection, organizational structure, commercial partnerships) to tactical project management (prioritization, schedule creation, milestone definition and execution, and deliverables management).
  • Proactively identify technical, legal, procedural, logistical, and communication issues and drive solutions to address them and manage risk.
  • Identify resources needed and work closely with team leaders to maintain full visibility of the project schedule and potential roadblocks.
  • Expect to travel domestically and internationally, 4-6 times a year.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in optics, electrical engineering, materials science or a similar field.
  • 7+ years as a technical program manager (or related role).
  • Experience with program management tools, phase gate product development lifecycle, building, coordinating, and maintaining schedules across multiple teams, and managing shared resources to lead successful technology development programs.
  • Experience leading and partnering with vendors and contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and technology transfer best practice and tools.
  • Proven communicator, experience synthesizing information into the most salient points to move a team / initiative forward.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in designing and building optical components, sensors, displays, imaging systems, LEDs, Lasers.
  • Experience with image quality & perception algorithms, calibration methodologies, computer vision algorithms, HW & SW integration.
  • Experience in design, bring up, qualification and operationalization of advanced calibration stations, test & metrology equipment. Familiarity with test software dev & deployment, data pipeline and data visualization.
  • Experience operating in medical devices, ophthalmic or other regulated industries.

$167,000/year to $230,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
