Meta Reality Labs (RL) is building products that make it easier for people to connect with others, and we're looking for a Technical Program Manager to join the Wearables Hardware Team. As a Technical Program Manager for Electrical Systems, you will drive execution of the electrical system through the product development cycle, playing a key role in the integration of new cutting-edge technologies. You will be defining and driving highly complex, cross-functional integration plans for the new product introductions and you will guide the electrical systems execution including planning of requirements, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks and associated mitigations. You will be responsible for communication of program status and risk to program stakeholders. In this role, you will have major impact on future products.
Technical Program Manager, Electrical Systems Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Electrical Engineering team, driving and tracking the definition, design, and delivery of the electrical hardware system of future products.
  • Manage the development of PCBs, FPCs, development platforms, and other EE designs.
  • Work with key silicon and electro-mechanical vendors, ensuring technical deliverables for the project are met. Partner with supply chain managers for vendor selection.
  • Coordinate with other internal cross functional design and operations teams including product design, manufacturing engineering, firmware, and software to develop cohesive development plans.
  • Develop project schedule, communicate program statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks.
  • Work cross-functionally to solve complex problems and embrace ambiguity to drive innovative and impactful solutions.
  • Manage external design resources, and contract manufacturers (CM, ODM, or JDM).
  • Create SMT build and allocation plans, address critical issues during builds, direct failure analysis, and drive yield improvement.
  • Ensure program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review.
  • Up to 20% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BSEE, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years as a Technical Program Manager (or related role), managing hardware programs from concept to mass production.
  • Experience with phase gate approach to technology development projects.
  • Experience with component and module qualification, validation and characterization processes.
  • Experience with consistently working under your own initiative, seeking feedback and input where appropriate.
  • Experience with communication, problem solving, and working with technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with new technology integration and scientific methodology

$102,000/year to $157,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
