Meta is seeking a seasoned expert to join the Stakeholder Engagement Team. You will be responsible for developing relationships with global external stakeholders to inform our product policies focused on generative AI, algorithmic recommendations, and misinformation. This entails collaborating closely with NGOs, advocacy groups, academics, and thought leaders worldwide to integrate their insights into our policy and product development processes. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of policy issues, particularly on responsible AI development, information integrity, user empowerment, and the regulation of online spaces. You will need to possess a thorough grasp of the internet advocacy stakeholder landscape, including NGOs, advocacy groups, academics, and other thought leaders. Your role will focus on developing a strategy for engaging with these stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Product Policy Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies with advocacy groups, academics, and think tanks to shape Meta’s product policies.
  • Collect, analyze, and convey external feedback on Meta’s content policies to inform our policy development.
  • Identify, cultivate, and establish partnerships with key external stakeholders focusing on algorithmic ranking, misinformation, generative AI, and online regulation.
  • Maintain a pulse on public dialogue related to algorithmic ranking, misinformation, generative AI, and online regulation, including synthesizing key research and policy papers on these topics.
  • Create and deliver presentations and other communication materials to articulate policy positions to external audiences effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our policies based on external insights.
  • Join the policy on-call roster to help field policy questions on high priority escalations, with an expectation to think critically about complex problems and exercise excellent judgment under time pressure.
  • Develop strategies for the team's presence at conferences, workshops, and other external forums. Represent Meta at external events and engagements.
  • Create tools and metrics to gauge the impact of external engagement on policy outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in online safety and/or content policy.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience in analytical-thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience in engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of policy, law, or government experience.
  • Previous roles in social media platforms, internet companies, AI labs, or technology-focused government or think tanks.
  • Advanced degree in law, public policy, communications, business, computer science, or AI.
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders on tech policy matters.
  • Track record of driving product or policy changes based on stakeholder input, particularly in tech companies.
  • Experience communicating with multiple languages.
  • Experience articulating policies and their reasoning to various audiences effectively.
  • Strong project prioritization skills and experience interacting with stakeholders at different levels.

$119,000/year to $177,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
